Get Involved

The success of the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership can be traced back to our great volunteers. There are a variety of ways to help the downtown, some as short-term as one afternoon. For the latest in volunteer opportunities, contact the Downtown Fond du Lac Parnership, info@fdlac.com or (920) 921-9500.

Adopt-a-Block

The DFP Design Committee is kicking off the Adopt-a-Block program for 2009. Adopt-a-Block is an easy and manageable way for you to play a key role in keeping our downtown looking its best. We’re asking you to adopt your block for one year. By “adopting,” you or your team to pick up trash and debris in your section at least once a month.
If you would like to volunteer for this program, please call or email the DFP office with which block you would be willing to adopt. Please feel free to pass on this information to co-workers who might be interested in participating in Adopt-a-Block.

Adopt-a-Planter

In 2008, 47 businesses stepped forward to care and maintain the planters throughout the district though the Adopt-a-Planter program.

This year the DFP plans to invest in the following beautification projects:

  • New “Welcome to Downtown” signs at the north and south ends of the district
  • New light pole banners to be installed this spring
  • Updated kiosk in Main Street Plaza
  • New permanent way finding maps in various downtown locations
  • New permanent Farmer’s Market signage at both the Saturday and Wednesday Markets
  • A clock tower donated by MAG Giddings & Lewis will be the center focal point of a gathering area in Main Street Plaza. The DFP will provide a seating/gathering area around the base of the clock, with an 8’x 8’ landscaped planter
  • Later this summer, phase two of the sidewalk replacement project will start at the intersection of Division St. and Main St. and move south.
