2010 Achievements

  • Maintained, updated and reviewed the content and format the DFP website www.downtownfonddulac.com
  • Maintained the DFP Facebook account.
  • Redesigned the kiosk in Main Street Plaza.
  • Continued marketing efforts in many publications including Night Life Ink, Fun In Wisconsin Magazine, Travelhost Magazine, Alive!, Wisconsin Trails and Midwest Living.
  • In partnership with the FDL Reporter, began a monthly “Experience Downtown” newspaper section that highlights the businesses and events of Downtown Fond du Lac.

    2011 Goals

  • Further develop the “Come Together” marketing campaign.
    * Monitor business usage, and continue to encourage downtown businesses to use it.
    * Implement an ongoing marketing plan for downtown Fond du Lac that portrays a positive public image to attract investors, developers, new businesses and visitors to downtown.
    * Continue to print and distribute window clings to display on front doors of businesses.
    * Update and continue to distribute business directory brochures.
    * Purchase billboards, way finding maps, bus decals and print advertisements to encourage visiting the downtown district.
  • Continue to explore new avenues in social media.
  • Expand on opportunities for business cooperative advertising.
    * Continually explore state or regional opportunities for group marketing.
    * Continually explore local opportunities for group marketing in local print, radio, television and internet advertising.
    * Develop marketing materials for identified clusters including bridal, entertainment and personal care.
  • Form a consistent theme in streetscape marketing.
    * Design and purchase new holiday banners and decorations.
    * Work with the Design Committee on any new permanent signage so that it reflects the “Come Together” branding message
